Intro to Bowling

Asymmetrical Core

Overview

  • An asymmetrical core has uneven mass distribution.

  • This creates a preferred rotation axis for the ball.

Key Features

  • Higher differential (more difference between axes)

  • Produces more aggressive hook

  • More angular and defined ball motion in the back-end

  • Can create sharper entry angles into the pocket

  • Requires more precise release for control

Typical Use

  • Strike-focused balls for experienced bowlers

  • Sport patterns with heavier oil

  • Situations where strong backend reaction is desired
